Alzheimer’s Care Minnesota: It is our core belief that human life is intrinsically valuable; therefore, our goal at Arthur’s Residential Care homes is to provide the best possible physical and emotional support to individuals whom we support so that they may lead fulfilling lives. We’ve put the key concepts we use to accomplish our mission right in the name of our umbrella company, “ACR”, which stands for Acceptance, Communication, and Respect
Acceptance: Arthur’s Residential Care strives to provide care that enables each individual to feel accepted and valued for who they are, in happy times as well as in challenging times. The staff at Arthur’s provide an atmosphere where each person feels understood, supported, and secure, and where they can relax and be themselves mentally, emotionally, and physically.
Communication: We are all communicating all the time. At Arthur’s Residential Care homes, we make it a priority to observe, acknowledge, and listen to verbal and non-verbal cues, and to support communication in the manner, pace, and time frame of each person’s choosing. We support and facilitate each person’s communication style, and we strive to preserve dignity and worth by helping them to be accurately understood. We seek to understand each individual’s thoughts, preferences, and emotional and physical needs, and to develop a unique care plan for each individual, written with input from the individual and his/her family.
Respect: The staff at Arthur’s Residential Care homes demonstrate respect by the way they speak and listen and attend to cues. They also show respect by appreciating, supporting and responding positively to each person’s communication style. Respect is also conveyed by honoring each person’s preferences where ever possible, by helping each individual to more fully participate in the community as independently as possible, and by recognizing the importance and pre-eminence of family relationships in the lives of people in our care.
