With so many options out there for a licensed assisted living facility, why should you choose Arthur’s?
It’s an important question but before we answer it, we’d like to let you know that Arthur’s is not the care facility for everyone. If you’re just beginning to consider moving out of your home so you don’t have to shovel snow or climb stairs, Arthur’s isn’t the assisted living facility for you. We provide direct and continual care for people with significant conditions such as those with Alzheimer’s or other types of dementia or memory issues.
Are you taking care of someone but don’t know how much longer you can do it?
At Arthur’s, we understand that letting go of the care of a loved one is one of the most difficult decisions many of us will ever make. For this reason, the search for a licensed assisted living facility often begins when people become too exhausted to continue giving their loved one the attention and care they require. At Arthur’s, we will provide a high level of physical or emotional support to you as well as your loved one. We build relationships and provide professional assistance. This is not a clinic and we are in this with you for the long term.
We provide your loved one small home living in wooded lots in Roseville and Shoreview, Minnesota.
We provide a close-knit community of six patients per small house with two staff members. When you visit your loved one, you can have privacy and strolls through the yard, not uncomfortable, impersonal meetings under fluorescent lights.
We provide extraordinary memory care through all stages of Alzheimer’s, Dementia, ALS, and other serious conditions.
We also appeal to people who have tried a larger licensed assisted living facility and had a bad experience. While these large apartment building-style facilities work well for many, for some, they are not the right fit.
Here are some of the ways Arthur’s addresses some of the common concerns people have with larger facilities:
• Most larger licensed assisted living facilities have a staff to client ratio of 1:6 up to 1:12. This means your loved one often has to wait get needs met. For someone who is confused this can lead to frustration, discomfort, and challenging behaviors. For some clients, Arthur’s smaller setting and 1:3 ratio can resolve many of these concerns.
• Nobody screens applicants like we do. We seek staff with high energy, creativity, and exceptional communication skills, and we hire only about 10% of applicants. Click here learn more details about how ACR and Arthur’s staff are screened, selected, trained, and supervised.
• When family members call with concerns about their loved one’s blood pressure, behavior, emotional state, or general well-being, Arthur’s staff will give you the information you desire (following HIPAA guidelines.) Our live-in supervisors are excellent communicators, and will stay in contact with you about daily concerns and any issues that may arise. You will never feel out of the loop with your loved one at Arthur’s.
• With just six people in the home, it’s not hard to keep track of belongings. There’s no need to even label their clothes, as we do each person’s laundry separately.
•We assist a lot of clients at Arthur’s who have been asked to leave a larger licensed assisted-living facility. Typically challenging behaviors are diminished in our small setting because staff are able to quickly respond to a client’s anxious concerns and respectfully redirect the focus. Even clients with memory loss begin to understand that Arthur’s is a comfortable place, and their concerns and anxiety lessen over time.
People are also attracted to Arthur’s Residential Care because it’s such a comfortable place to visit. When family members come there are games for the kids to play, free Wi-Fi, and pets are welcome. Grandchildren and great grandchildren don’t dread coming anymore, because they are made to feel at home. The coffee pot is always on and the chairs are comfortable—stop by anytime for a cup of coffee and a fresh cookie, and experience it for yourself!
